Sylvia was originally a short story of Levin's, published in 1955's Manhunt Detective Story Monthly. It was adapted for the Alfred Hitchcock Presents anthology series in 1958, and starred Ann Todd and John McIntire.

Levin was surely pleased about Sylvia's inclusion in Hitchcock's eponymous series, as he was a great admirer and student of his work. (See our further Hitchcock notes on our A Kiss Before Dying [Levin-on-Levin] and Rosemary's Baby [Fun Facts] pages.)
