Introduction

Before settling into writing primarily novels and stage plays, Ira Levin dabbled in different formats, including television plays, short stories, light verse, etcetera – a sampling of which are presented here.

He was also an avid New York Times letter writer, and a puzzle fan – winning the revered New York Magazine competition several times. And as a lover of puzzles, he was tickled to appear in crossword puzzle questions (usually under some variant of the clue "Author Levin"), as well as in Jeopardy answers.
